Within every Medieval Engineer's life there becomes the time when they decide running through the woods like a crazy people trying to survive off berries has been going on for too long! So, now its time to take the first steps towards farming and making your self a sustainable method of getting food.

This table indicates the growth timers of each available crop at their different stages in real life time. The growth cycles follow one after another, so the next cycle does not start until after the first one in the process is complete.

Also all crops turn into their withered state after 27 hours after being at their fully grown state.

This example below will demonstrate basic farming and it's growth cycles.

Basic Farming

After finding the perfect location to farm on or making your own by Terrain Shaping, it is time to start actually farming.
Start by using the Hand Plow for tilling the land and it should look something similar to this:

Now that the land is tilled, it is time to pick which crops you wish to plant. You need to of course first turn the raw crops found from the wild into seed bags. To obtain the seed bags you must first Research farming from the Medieval Engineers Research Tree.png Medieval Engineers Research Tree.

After obtaining the seed bags you want to plant, simply take them to your tilled farmland and put them on your action bar and click to plant them. It should now look similar to this:
Crop1.png
When first planted, crops are considered in their "sapling" state and will move into their "young" state before becoming fully grown.

After all your hard effort and waiting your crops will finally be full grown. Looking something similar to this:

Congratulations! You should now have a full harvest of crops after waiting the full growth timer of each crop as indicated above.

Now if you grow weary after all those long hours of working the fields then it may be time to consider Mechanized Farming.
