Schematics are drafted on Blank Scrolls. You'll need the Research Table to craft Blank Scrolls.

Making Blank Scrolls requires either Tanned Leather or scrapwood. Put Tanned Leather or enough scrapwood into the Research Table, and craft Blank Scrolls out of it.
