Quest Steps
Step 1
You will want to make a bed so that you have a place to return to. Beds are made with wooden timbers so you'll want to gather some more logs to get started.

Step 2
Use the logs in your inventory to craft timbers. You'll need them to craft a bed. You can do this in your inventory or at the crafting table. Crafting is sometimes more efficient or faster at the crafting table.
Press while looking at the crafting table to access workstation crafting. This works nearly the same way that your inventory screen does except that the crafting table has its own inventory. You will have to move the logs from your personal inventory to the crafting table inventory to craft timbers. Click the ? icon for more information.

Step 3
Now that you have some timbers you may notice something different about the icon. It has a small symbol in the corner. This symbol means that timbers have variants. If you add the timbers to your toolbar, you will find that you can change variants by using and . The timbers change length but other items may change in different ways.
You can use these timbers to craft a bed at the crafting table. Press to access the crafting table.

Step 4
Place the bed somewhere cozy. If you want to pick up the bed or crafting table again you can hold down the key. This will only work if the inventory is empty.

Step 5
You will want to claim the bed as your own. You can only claim one bed at a time but it gives you a place to start again if you have an accident. Press while looking at the bed to claim it.
