You will want to prepare some storage space to keep your camp organized.

Craft a small chest at the crafting table.
- Craft 1 Small Chest (0/1)

Place the small chest somewhere nearby.
- Place 1 Small Chest (0/1)
Step 4
Chests are useful because they can store many kinds of small items. Press 
while looking at the chest lid to access its inventory. The chest doesn't have crafting so you will only see the inventory. You may notice that you cannot store timbers in the chest. There is a dedicated storage block for storing timbers.
- Craft 1 Small Stockpile for Timbers (0/1)
Step 5
Place the timber stockpile nearby.
- Place 1 Small Stockpile for Timbers (0/1)
Step 6
Crafting is great but now it's time to really build something! Let's start with a support structure to build on top of. You will need a mallet to construct it.
- Craft 1 Wooden Mallet (0/1)
Step 7
Open the general search by pressing 
and put the wooden support on your toolbar by dragging the icon there or using 
.
Equip the Wooden Support and place it somewhere ideal to start building a house.
- Place 1 Wooden Support (0/1)

Add the mallet to your toolbar and equip it. Use 
to build the Wooden Support.
