The Flora category covers all plants and grasses in Medieval Engineers. This includes all trees, bushes, roots, flowers, and other growing plants. Most flora is harvestable to be used as food and resources. Grasses are decorative only at this time. Where flora appears is assigned per biome.
The pages in this category generally do not contain much information. The pages themselves are important in the context of other pages, such as biomes or flora, that link to them. This way, if you are looking at a biome you can see what kingdoms it is in, or you can conversely find all of the biomes contained within a particular kingdom. The links between Biomes, Flora, and Kingdoms are the web of connections that describe the Planet.
Trees and Bushes
|Where to source information|
|Flora is mapped to biomes in ProceduralEnvironmentsEarthSecond.sbc which can be found by browsing the game's content folder in your steam library \MedievalEngineers\Content\Data\Environment\ProceduralEnvironmentsEarthSecond.sbc
There are many Mappings that are assigned to Biome materials that are numbered. Their assignment to basic biomes can be seen in the BiomeMapping part of the PlanetGeneratorDefinition located in \MedievalEngineers\Content\Data\PlanetGeneratorDefinitions\EarthSecond.sbc
Plant items and their "Gather" actions are defined in GrowableEnvironmentItems.sbc which can be found in MedievalEngineers\Content\Data\Environment\GrowableEnvironmentItems.sbc
There are variations of trees and bushes. When these variations are only for aesthetics (such as size or environmental variations) they are grouped. e.g. TreePine15 and TreePine175 are grouped as Pine Trees.
